So where do you go for romance?
Cities may not immediately sound romantic but a stroll along the Seine in Paris as the sun is setting, sharing an ice-cream in Rome by the Trevi Fountain, looking at beautiful paintings in Florence's galleries or just enjoying a show on Broadway while staying in a 5 star hotel with all the luxury there is - spoil yourself - you're on honeymoon.
Alternatively - if sparkling white sands are what you want - destinations include the Maldives, the Great Barrier Reef or Mauritius. The Caribbean can be lively or you can almost imagine you are on your own desert island in some places.
Closer to home, there are some fantastic 5 star resorts in the Med, beautiful isolated villas in Tuscany or the Dordogne, spa hotels in Cyprus, or sail around the Greek Islands or off the coast of Turkey in a yacht. (OK this last one might be shared, but just imagine the peace!?)
If you can't manage to get away for 2 weeks in the sun, there are some parts of the UK which you might not have considered. Hotels with log fires in quiet lounges, shopping, golf, spas, theatres, incredible countryside, good food. You don't have to travel thousands of miles for luxury.
Don't want the sun? Honeymoon in a log cabin in the Alps or in a condo in the Rockies. Try Korea for somewhere new for skiers.
